Police Probe Underway After 21-Year-Old Student Dies at South Mumbai Event

Mumbai, 18th June 2024: A 21-year-old student, attending an event at a south Mumbai hotel on Sunday night, tragically passed away early Monday under circumstances that are currently under investigation by the Yellow Gate Police. The incident has been registered as an accidental death case, pending determination of the exact cause of death.
According to police reports, the student, identified as Hamza Khan, was attending the HOR India Tour event at Bayview Lawns accompanied by his friends. Around 12:15 am on Monday, Khan suddenly began feeling unwell at the event venue. Witnesses stated that he appeared to stumble and subsequently collapsed. Event security and organizers promptly responded, providing immediate assistance including offering him lime water and attempting to revive him. Simultaneously, efforts were made to arrange for an ambulance.
Upon being informed of the situation, Khan’s relative immediately arranged for a car to transport him to Masina Hospital, where the family had connections with a doctor. Despite receiving prompt medical attention and undergoing tests at the hospital, Khan tragically succumbed.
Police have conducted an autopsy, but the exact cause of death remains undetermined pending further chemical analysis. Viscera samples have been sent to the state forensic science laboratory for examination.
Khan, who resided in Andheri, Mumbai, comes from a family where his father is currently on a Hajj pilgrimage and his two sisters reside abroad. Police have gathered statements from witnesses and reviewed CCTV footage as part of their investigation into the incident. “We are conducting a thorough investigation,” stated a senior police official.
