Pune: 17 Four-Wheelers Damaged In Fire At Garage In Bibvewadi

Bibvewadi, 15th March 2024: In the early hours today, a devastating fire broke out at Matin Car Cares garage located near Ai Mata Mandir in the Bibvewadi area of Pune. The incident, reported at 03:20 am, saw a swift response from the local fire brigade units, averting what could have been a catastrophic situation.

Upon receiving the distress call regarding a large grass fire in the vicinity, the personnel of the fire brigade swiftly mobilized resources from Gangadham and Kondhwa Khurd to the spot.

Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters were met with a distressing sight – multiple vehicles parked in the open space of the garage were engulfed in flames. Acting promptly, they ensured that no individuals were trapped inside the premises before commencing their efforts to extinguish the blaze.

Utilizing water cannons from all angles, the firefighters managed to bring the inferno under control within a mere thirty minutes, preventing further escalation of the situation. However, despite their valiant efforts, a total of 17 four-wheeler vehicles were damaged by the fire.

Among the casualties were vehicles from renowned manufacturers including BMW, Mercedes, Range Rover, Skoda, Hyundai, and Ford, which had been brought to the garage for repair. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or fatalities stemming from the incident.

The heroic efforts of the firefighting team, led by Fire Officer Sanjay Ramteke and personnel such as Kailas Shinde, Tandel Manish Bomble, Mahadev Mangde, Shailesh Gore, Rajesh Ghadshi, Nilesh Wankhade, Vaibhav Raut, Kunal Khode, and Mandar Nalavde, were instrumental in containing the blaze and preventing further loss.
