Pune: Domestic Dispute Turns Fatal in Moshi: Husband Accused of Fatally Beating Wife Over Alcohol Money
Moshi, 11th March 2024: On Sunday (10th March) in Moshi, there was an incident where Maruti Babna (50) allegedly caused the death of his wife, Jayashree Maruti Babna (47), by striking her on the head with an iron rod. The motive behind this act was reportedly Jayashree’s refusal to provide money to her husband for purchasing alcohol. The couple resided in Moshi.
The son of the deceased, Balaji Maruti Babna (age 29), filed a complaint at MIDC Bhosari Police Station regarding the incident.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shivaji Pawar stated that Maruti had a history of alcohol addiction. On Sunday, he sought financial assistance from his wife, Jayashree, to fund his drinking habit. However, she declined to provide the money, leading to a violent confrontation. Maruti allegedly struck Jayashree on the head with an iron rod, causing severe injuries that ultimately resulted in her death.
The MIDC Bhosari police are currently conducting an investigation into the matter.
