Pune: Hinjawadi Police Investigate Deceptive Trading Scheme: Victim Duped of 29 Lakh 63 Thousand Rupees
Hinjawadi, 11th March 2024: A fraudulent scheme involving a sum of 29 lakh 63 thousand rupees under the guise of stock market trading has been reported. The victim, Parag Praful Lohgaonkar (35 years old, resident of Marunji, Mulshi), fell prey to this deception between December 8, 2023, and January 25, 2024, in Marunji.
Lohgaonkar filed a complaint at the Hinjawadi Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against the individual associated with mobile number 447480611104. The suspect enticed Lohgaonkar by sending a WhatsApp message and invited him to join a WhatsApp group named “ROWE PRICE STOCK PULLING GROUP D88” and download an app called “IND SES.”
As per the police, the person behind the mobile number 447480611104, operating through the mentioned WhatsApp group and app, gained Lohgaonkar’s trust. He manipulated him into believing that substantial profits could be earned through stock market trading. Exploiting this trust, the fraudsters managed to extract a total of 29 lakh 63 thousand 599 rupees from Lohgaonkar. The Hinjawadi Police are currently conducting an investigation into this fraudulent activity.
