Pune: Late Night Robbery in Hadapsar: Two Delivery Boys Assaulted, Mobile Phones and Cash Stolen

Hadapsar, 10th March 2024: Two delivery boys fell victim to a robbery orchestrated by four unidentified men in Hadapsar, resulting in the theft of mobile phones and cash along with verbal abuse, and physical assault. Omprakash Deshraj Singh (36), a resident of Mundhwa, lodged a formal complaint with the Hadapsar Police Station regarding the incident.

The incident unfolded last night around 1:30 am near Vasantdada Sugar Institute in Manjari Budruk. Four unknown assailants approached Singh and his friend, Prathamesh Parmeshwar Samudre (19), a resident of Manjari. The assaulters verbally abused the complainants and then proceeded to damage their motorcycle using sharp weapons. They physically assaulted Singh and Samudre, ultimately coercing them to surrender their belongings.

Under the threat of sharp weapons, the assailants forcefully robbed a Redmi and Samsung phone, along with Rs 660 in cash. Following the robbery, the criminals engaged in vandalism in the vicinity before making their escape.

Hadapsar Police Station has registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 392 (robbery), 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), 427 (mischief causing damage), 504 (intentional insult), and 34 (common intention), as well as sections of the Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act. Sections 3 and 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act have also been applied against the four unidentified accused.

The Hadapsar police are actively investigating the matter further.
