Pune: Minor Student Endures Four Months of Sexual Harassment, Accused Arrested by Loni Kalbhor Police

Loni Kalbhor, 10th March 2024: Exploiting the empty house, a class VII student was persistently raped for over four months by an individual in the jurisdiction of Loni Kalbhor Police Station. The accused, Pradmakar Madhukar Edake (aged 50), has been apprehended following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother at Loni Kalbhor Police Station.
As disclosed by Senior Police Inspector Shashikant Chavan, the victim, a class VII student, often accompanied by her younger brother on their way to school, fell prey to Edake, who is employed as a driver in a private company. The families of both the victim and the accused share an acquaintance, with the victim’s parents engaged in manual labour. Exploiting their absence, Edake would enter the girl’s residence after her parents left for work, often dispatching her brother on errands. It was during these moments that he engaged in forcing her to have a physical relationship. Shockingly, this distressing situation persisted for four consecutive months.
The Loni Kalbhor police acted swiftly, arresting Edake and ensuring legal consequences for his actions based on the victim’s mother’s formal complaint.
Frustrated by the persistent issue, the victim girl confided in her friend and neighbour, sharing the details of the incidents. Subsequently, the concerned neighbour relayed the distressing information to the victim’s mother. The revelation left the mother profoundly shaken, prompting her swift action. Without hesitation, she rushed to the Loni Kalbhor police station and formally filed a complaint against Padmakar Edake.
Following the registration of the case at Loni Kalbhor Police Station, law enforcement promptly took action, leading to the immediate arrest of Pradmakar Edake. The ongoing investigation is now under the purview of Assistant Police Inspector Jyoti Medhe, guided by the expertise of Senior Police Inspector Shashikant Chavan from Loni Kalbhor Police Station.
