Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Rescue Abducted Shepherd in Ambajogai Amidst Financial Dispute

Pimpri Chinchwad, 4th March 2024: A shepherd in Chinchwad became a victim of abduction amid a financial dispute. Following a thorough investigation, Crime Branch Unit 2 of Pimpri Chinchwad Police successfully rescued the abducted individual in Ambajogai, located in the Beed district.
The shepherd, identified as Tukaram Sadhu Shimple (40 years old), was rescued, and the police arrested Dnyaneshwar, also known as Balasaheb Yadav Rupnar (22 years old and a resident of Beed district), in connection with the case.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doifode revealed that on February 28 at 7 am, the police received information about the kidnapping from Shree Dhaneshwar Mahadev Mandir in Chinchwad Gaon. Upon reaching the scene and gathering information, it was determined that Tukaram Shimple was abducted and forcibly taken into a car with a mud-smeared number plate.
Crime Branch Unit 2 initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, scrutinizing CCTV footage of the area, which revealed the presence of certain individuals. Suspecting that the involved vehicle had travelled to Beed district, a Crime Branch team was dispatched to pursue this lead.
Before arriving in Chinchwad, Tukaram Shimple had been facilitating the sale of goats and sheep in Ambajogai. However, a financial dispute arose when the buyer failed to fulfil the payment for the mediated transaction. In an attempt to settle the debt, Shimple sold his wife’s jewellery and farm, providing funds to certain individuals. He moved to Chinchwad to seek employment.
The police received confidential information indicating that Dnyaneshwar Rupnar had arrived in Chinchwad from Beed eight days before. Acting on this lead, the police kept Rupnar under surveillance and searched his residence. A locked room was discovered, and upon opening it, Tukaram Shimple was found inside. The police successfully freed Shimple and apprehended Dnyaneshwar Rupnar.
Further investigations revealed that Shimple had mediated the sale of goats and sheep belonging to Dnyaneshwar’s uncle, Raghunath Narute. A sum of 14 lakhs remained unpaid as the purchase price, leading to frustration. On the advice of Raghunath, Dnyaneshwar, along with his accomplices, kidnapped Shimple. The Chinchwad Police are investigating this matter further.
