Pune: Preparations and Traffic Guidelines Discussed at Kondhwa Police Station Meeting for Upcoming Ramzan Eid Festival

Kondhwa, 8th March 2024: In anticipation of the upcoming Ramzan Eid festival, a crucial meeting was convened on Thursday at Kondhwa Police Station, Pune City Police. The gathering addressed not only the arrangements for the festive occasion but also delved into discussions on prevalent traffic issues and other concerns within the Kondhwa Police Station jurisdiction.
Under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East region) Manoj Patil, the meeting saw the presence of esteemed senior officers, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) R Raja and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Wanwadi Division) Ingle.
Representatives from various community organizations and civic bodies attended the meeting, illustrating a broad spectrum of participation.
Among those present were Sameer Ansar Sheikh, President of the Minorities Committee Pune City; Abid Syed, Peace Committee Member; Zahid Bhai Sheikh, President of Maharashtra Action Committee; Gafur Pathan (Nationalist Congress Party), Former Corporator, Haji Feroze Sheikh; Hasina Inamdar; Maulana Qari Idris; Maulana Anwar Sufi; former MLA Mahadev Babar (Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray group); along with 120 to 125 mosque madrasa trustees, members, Pune Municipal Water Supply Department Officers, MSEDCL officials and employees, Pune Municipal Health Department Officers, and Kondhwa Traffic Division Officers.
Key Guidelines and Recommendations Discussed:
1) Legal Permissions for Food Stalls: Stalls set up for Ramadan Eid celebrations must obtain permission from relevant authorities such as the Municipal Corporation and Traffic police.
2) Traffic Flow Considerations: Stalls should be positioned in a manner that does not obstruct traffic flow, and appropriate parking arrangements must be made after their setup.
3) Parking During Namaz: Adequate parking arrangements should be made, especially during Namaz times, with volunteers from Masjid Committees assisting in managing the flow.
4) Avoidance of Offensive Banners: Participants were urged to refrain from displaying banners that could incite religious tension. Immediate reporting to Kondhwa Police Station or dialing 112 in case of sensitive situations was stressed to maintain law and order.
