Maval, 15th March 2024: Shrirang Barne, an aspiring candidate from the Mahayuti alliance, has unequivocally declared his intention to contest the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections under the Shiv Sena banner, bringing an end to speculations regarding his affiliation with the BJP. Having previously contested the Shiv Sena, Barne confirmed his allegiance to the party during a media interaction in Pimpri.
While the Mahavikas Aghadi has already finalized its candidate for the Maval Lok Sabha constituency, the Mahayuti alliance is yet to make a decision. Despite the Shiv Sena Shinde group claiming the Maval constituency, Shrirang Barane is widely expected to be chosen as the candidate, a sentiment he has echoed on numerous occasions. However, discussions arose about Barne potentially contesting on the BJP symbol, spurred by a challenge from Sanjog Waghere of the Uddhav Thackeray faction within Shiv Sena. Barne decisively put these speculations to rest, reaffirming his commitment to Shiv Sena, a party he has represented in past elections.
