RPF Policeman Chetan Singh Contacted Wife After Fatal Jaipur-Mumbai Express Shooting
 
                Mumbai, 6th August 2023: Following the tragic shooting incident aboard the Jaipur-Mumbai Express, accused RPF constable Chetan Singh reportedly reached out to his spouse, Renu Singh, to discuss the aftermath of the ordeal.
“Whatever has occurred, please take good care of the children,” Chetan is said to have expressed during the conversation, urging her to ensure their well-being. Subsequent to this exchange, Chetan disembarked the train as it halted between Dahisar and Mira Road stations, making his way towards Mira Road station. These revelations have surfaced as part of the ongoing police investigation into the matter.
A comprehensive inquiry is currently being conducted by the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force, and ATS into the shooting incident aboard the Jaipur-Mumbai Express. Chetan Singh’s wife and mother arrived in Mumbai on Saturday (5th August), participating in formal statements recorded by the police at Borivali.
Both individuals were subjected to rigorous questioning. It is understood that the police posed a range of inquiries to the accused Chetan Singh, delving into matters concerning his personal character, health, and recent activities.
Sources indicate that Renu Singh cooperated with the investigators, providing pertinent information and associated documentation pertaining to Chetan’s mental well-being.
Chetan is known to have expressed yearning for his family, particularly his children, on multiple occasions. He had reportedly requested to meet his wife on several instances.
Police have meticulously reconstructed the sequence of events encompassing the entire incident. This reenactment took place within the confines of the Mumbai Central Yard, with sealed B-4 to S-6 coaches serving as the focal points of scrutiny.
Railway Police were joined by RPF Constable Amay Acharya during this reconstruction exercise.
