Santacruz West Blaze: Mumbai Fire Brigade Rescues 37 in Swift Operation

Mumbai, 27th February 2024: On Monday, a fire broke out in Mumbai’s Options Commercial Centre in Santacruz West, leading to the rescue of 37 individuals by the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB). The MFB responded to a call about the fire at 5:22 pm.

According to officials, the fire, which started around 5:15 pm, did not result in any injuries. The incident was localized to the second-floor gala of the commercial building, specifically affecting electric wiring and installations. The commercial centre comprises two basement levels, a ground floor, and two upper floors.

In responding to the emergency, four fire engines, one Mobile Fire Tender (MFT), one Quick Response Vehicle (QRV), one Aerial Work Platform (AWTT), two Jet Tanks (JT), and one Turntable Ladder (TTL) were dispatched to the scene. The prompt action by the fire brigade resulted in the successful rescue of 37 individuals who were trapped on the second floor and terrace of the building.
