Shiv Sena Deputy Chief Dies of Heart Attack After Resort Altercation in Thane

Mumbai, 31 July 2024: On Sunday, the deputy chief of Shiv Sena (UBT) in Thane passed away, reportedly from a heart attack, following a violent altercation between two groups at a resort in Navapur, Virar (W). The confrontation was sparked by an accident in the resort’s parking lot. In response to the incident, civic and revenue officials demolished water slides and other unauthorized structures at the resort early Monday, allegedly on the orders of Chief Minister Shinde. Seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The resort’s management claimed that the demolition was carried out without prior notice, although a civic official stated that previous notices had been issued for violations.
Milind More (49), a Shiv Sena (UBT) functionary, arrived at Seven Sea Water Park and Resort with his family of more than 15 people around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. After spending the day at the resort, they gathered in the parking lot around 5:30 p.m. to leave. A reversing auto-rickshaw accidentally struck More’s nephew, Kunal, pinning his leg under the rear wheel. Following this, More slapped the driver, which led to an altercation involving 8-10 men from the resort and 5 women from the owner’s family, who allegedly assaulted him, hitting him in the chest and abdomen. More collapsed at 5:56 p.m. while discussing the incident with his family.
