Suicide of Police Inspector Prahlad Bansode Shocks Mumbai’s Law Enforcement Community
Mumbai, 28th February 2024: Police Inspector Prahlad Bansode (43), associated with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad of Mumbai Police, reportedly took his own life on Tuesday at his residence in Santa Cruz East.
The incident occurred around 5:00 pm when Bansode was found hanging from the ceiling of the ninth-floor passage in the police quarters at Kalina near the university.
According to the police, preliminary investigations suggest that he was suffering from depression. Bansode lived in a flat on the first floor of the building, and his family was present in the flat at the time of the incident.
The Vakola police have registered a case of accidental death and have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event. The watchman of the building alerted the society’s residents and informed the Vakola police about the incident.
