Thane Police Seize LSD and Cannabis Valued at Rs 13.43 Lakh; Two Arrested
Thane, 12th September 2024: On Monday, police in Thane announced the arrest of two individuals for allegedly possessing LSD and cannabis valued at Rs 13.43 lakh. The arrests were made by a team from Vartak Nagar police station near a mall on Saturday.
The suspects, Swaroop Jitendra Sawant (23) and Sanket Sandeep Lad (26), were reportedly found with 58 LSD tabs and 9.551 grams of cannabis. The drugs are estimated to be worth Rs 13.43 lakh.
According to police, the accused obtained the drugs from Sahil Augustine of Thane and Devesh Trivedi of Navi Mumbai, intending to sell them. The pair have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Authorities are currently working to locate Augustine and Trivedi.
