Thane: Pre-Arrest Bail Granted To Jitendra Awhad
Thane, 18th February 2023: A case has been registered against NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad in connection with the assault of Thane Municipal Corporation Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Aher. After Awhad applied for pre-arrest bail on Friday, the court granted it. “I have been charged with serious crimes. No police commissioner has the courage to take such action without asking the Chief Minister. Mahesh Aher has a fake educational certificate. How was he promoted?” Awhad commented.
A case was registered against Awhad and seven people in connection with the beating of Thane Municipal Corporation Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Aher. Four people have been arrested. Awhad had applied for pre-arrest bail, which the Thane court approved.
Abhijit Pawar, NCP office bearers Vikram Khamkar, Hemant Vani and Vishant Gaikwad, who were arrested, and Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Aher were remanded in police custody by the Thane court on Friday till Monday.
