Thane: Six Patients Detected With H3N2 Influenza Strain In City

Thane, 17th March 2023: Along with the increase in the number of corona patients in the municipal area, it has come to light that ‘H3N2’ influenza has reared its head in the city. Six patients have been diagnosed with this flu. As the patients of influenza disease started to be found along with Corona, the health systems have started running rapidly, and this has increased the health concern of the city.
In Thane city, the corona infection, which had decreased for the past few months, has started increasing again. In the last 15 days, the number of active corona patients in the city has increased to 85. On Thursday, 28 patients were found in the city, and an 82-year-old patient also died. The sudden increase in patients and the death of one patient have left the health department sleepless. At the same time, for the past few days, patients of ‘H3N2’ influenza have been found in the state, and it has come to light that this disease has also taken hold in Thane city. Six patients with this disease have been found in the city. Against this background, Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar has given orders in a meeting that the health system should be alert to treat patients affected by Corona and Influenza.
Commissioner Bangar said that even though the cases of Corona and H3N2 have been detected in the municipal area, the municipal corporation has made complete preparations for immediate prevention, and if the symptoms of this disease are detected, the citizens should contact their nearest health centre without believing any rumours and without fear. He also said that if symptoms such as sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, fever, and fatigue are found, the concerned person should go to the nearest health centre and get checked.
