Two Individuals Face Legal Charges For Killing Stray Dog In Thane District
Thane, 13th December 2024: Two individuals are facing legal charges for allegedly killing a stray dog by stoning and beating it in Thane district, Maharashtra, according to a police report on Friday.
After receiving a complaint, authorities launched legal proceedings on Wednesday concerning the incident that occurred in Bhiwandi town the previous week.
The accused, Mitesh Barodia and Bharat are accused of attacking a stray dog with stones in the Kalher area on the afternoon of December 8. They reportedly further assaulted the animal with a bamboo stick, leading to its death, as stated by the official.
A first information report (FIR) has been filed against both individuals under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to killing, poisoning, maiming, or disabling animals, along with the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
