Water Supply Disruption in Mumbai Today: Andheri, Jogeshwari, Vileparle Residents Brace for 16-Hour Shutdown

Mumbai, 5th June 2023: Residents of Andheri, Jogeshwari, and Vileparle in Mumbai will face a major water supply disruption on Monday, June 5th. The supply will be shut off for 16 hours in certain areas, with others experiencing low water pressure. This interruption is necessary to facilitate the connection of an aqueduct, and residents are advised to store water in advance, officials said.
Specifically, the work will be carried out near ‘Ramya Jeevan Society’ on Mahakali Gufa Marg in Andheri East, as well as on Cardinal Gracious Marg and B.D. Sawant Marg Chowk. The connection of new water pipes with diameters of 1500 mm and 1200 mm will take place from 8 am to 12 midnight. As a result, water supply will be completely halted for 16 hours in some parts of the K East and K West areas.
The affected regions include Tripathi Nagar, Munshi Colony, Bastiwala Compound, Collector Colony, Durga Nagar, Matoshree Club, and Jogeshwari (East), where the water supply will be completely shut off. Sariput Nagar and Durga Nagar in Jogeshwari (East) will also experience a complete stoppage of water supply.
In addition, areas such as Vishal Hall, Verma Nagar, Kamgar Kalyan, Manjrekar Wadi, Bima Nagar, Gundvali Gavthan, and Teli Galli in Andheri (East) will be affected. This includes Koldongari, Jeeva Mahale Road, Saiwadi, Jeevan Vikas Kendra Marg, Shivaji Nagar, Sambhaji Nagar, Hanuman Road, Shraddhanand Road, Nehru Road, Tejpal Road, Shastri Nagar, Rajendra Prasad Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Kajuwadi, Vile-Parle East, Vile-Parle East Domestic Airport, Amritnagar, Rambagh, Chakala Gavthan, and Chakala Weigh Bridge in Vile-Parle East, where water supply will be completely stopped.
Moreover, Mogarpada, New Nagardas Road, and Old Nagardas Road in Andheri (East) will experience low water pressure. In Santacruz (East), areas such as Moragaon and Juhu Village will face a complete stoppage of water supply.
Additionally, Bandra, Santacruz, and the eastern areas of Khar will be supplied with water at low pressure for the next four days, starting from Sunday. Repair and strengthening work on a 1,200 mm diameter water channel near Teacher’s Colony Crematorium at Santacruz (East) will be undertaken by the Water Engineer Department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. As a result, certain areas in the H/East Division will experience low water pressure from Sunday, June 4th, to Thursday, June 8th, 2023.
