Water Supply Disruption in Thane: Valve Replacement Work at Siddheshwar Aqueduct

Thane, 12th December 2023: In an essential maintenance operation, the Thane Municipal Corporation’s water supply department has announced the replacement of a valve on the main water channel of the Siddheshwar Lake Aqueduct. As a result, water supply will be temporarily interrupted in certain parts of the city on Thursday, December 14, from 9 am to 9 pm.

The primary objective of the maintenance task is to replace a 500 mm diameter valve situated on the water channel of Siddheshwar, which has become obstructed by an accumulation of common water hyacinth. The affected areas during the water supply disruption include the Siddheshwar, Eternity Mall Area, Ghodbundur Road, and other parts of Thane West.

The Thane Municipal Corporation’s water supply department has provided information that the water supply will be halted during the specified time for the valve replacement work. Residents in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements for their water needs during the interruption.

Additionally, the water supply department has forewarned that the water supply may be at low pressure for the following one to two days after the completion of the maintenance work. Residents are encouraged to use water judiciously during this period to minimize inconvenience.
