Wockhardt Hospital in Mumbai’s Mira Road Receives Bomb Threat via Email

Mumbai, 17th June 2024: Wockhardt Hospital in Mumbai’s Mira Road received a bomb threat via email on Monday. Upon receiving the threat, local police promptly cordoned off the area to restrict movement while deploying bomb squad and dog squad units for investigation, according to Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar (MBVV) police officials.
Similarly, a mental hospital located in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh faced a similar situation on June 12 when it received a bomb threat through email, which was later determined to be false. Police, along with the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), conducted a thorough search of the hospital premises in the Banganga locality but found no suspicious items.
On the same day, several museums in New Delhi, including the National Museum and Rail Museum, along with two mental health institutes— IHBAS (Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences) and VIMHANS (Vidyasagar Institute of Mental Health, Neuro and Allied Sciences)—received bomb threat emails. Authorities conducted searches at these locations, including IHBAS in Shahdara and Vimhans Hospital in Lajpat Nagar, and confirmed that the threats were unfounded after finding no signs of any explosive devices.
In a separate incident last month, Mumbai Police arrested Arvind Rajput from Uttar Pradesh after he made a threat call claiming bombs were placed at the Taj Hotel and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Police conducted searches at these locations but found no credible threat.
Earlier, Delhi Police received a bomb threat email targeting the Police Control Room in North Block, which houses the Ministry of Home Affairs. This incident followed multiple hoax bomb threats via email received by schools across Delhi-NCR, Jaipur, Uttar Pradesh, and Bengaluru, causing temporary panic before authorities confirmed the threats to be baseless.
Authorities continue to investigate these incidents to ensure public safety and maintain vigilance against false threats.
