Thane: Two Lives Lost: Father and Son Commit Suicide on Mumbai Railway Tracks

Thane, 11th July 2024: Two individuals, believed to be a father and his son, tragically ended their lives by committing suicide in front of a local train at Bhayandar railway station in Mumbai. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the two men walking along the platform as a local train passes by. Upon the train’s departure, they descend onto the railway tracks and begin crossing.

Moments later, another local train approaches the station. Without warning, both individuals move onto the second track and lie down as the train approaches. Despite efforts by the train driver to stop, the train tragically ran over them as they lay on the tracks.

The incident occurred around 11 am on Monday. CCTV footage clearly shows the father and son conversing on the platform before proceeding towards Virar. After descending from the platform and walking a short distance, they positioned themselves in front of the oncoming local train heading from Virar towards Churchgate.

The victims, identified as residents of Nalasopara, were confirmed to be the father and son duo involved in the tragic event. The Railway Police have initiated an investigation into the matter, registering a case and beginning further inquiries.
