High-Speed Audi Collides with Three Autorickshaws in Mumbai; Three Injured

Mumbai, 22nd July 2024: This morning in Mumbai, a high-speed Audi collided with three autorickshaws, injuring three people. The incident adds to a series of recent accidents involving luxury vehicles that have caused widespread outrage in Maharashtra.

The Audi crashed into two autorickshaws, leaving the driver of one autorickshaw in critical condition, while the other two injured were passengers in the same vehicle. The Mulund police have seized the Audi, but the driver has not been located since the accident.

Previously, two hit-and-run incidents involving luxury cars had fueled public anger against such offenders. Earlier this month, a 24-year-old, the son of a Shiv Sena leader, struck and killed an elderly woman with his BMW. During questioning, Mihir Shah admitted to being intoxicated at the time of the incident. In another case, a minor son of a Pune realtor hit two young tech professionals with his Porsche during a late-night drive while under the influence. The case also revealed attempts by his family to cover up the incident, including tampering with his blood sample.

These cases have challenged the perception that wealthy individuals with luxury vehicles often evade justice despite committing serious offences. Timely investigations and arrests in these cases are seen as significant steps toward addressing this issue.
