Mumbai, 6th September 2024: A major fire broke out early this morning at the Times Tower building in Lower Parel, Mumbai. The incident occurred at around 5:30 AM on the upper floors of the commercial complex, causing widespread panic among those present in the area.

According to initial reports, the blaze started on the 14th floor of the building, home to several corporate offices including the sales dept of Bennett Coleman. Thick plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the windows, drawing the attention of nearby residents and workers. The fire brigade was immediately alerted, and at least six fire engines, four water tankers, and a team of firefighters rushed to the site.

Fortunately, the building was largely vacant at the time due to the early hours, and no casualties have been reported. However, extensive damage to property has been noted, with several offices on the affected floor experiencing severe fire and smoke damage.

Efforts to control the blaze continued for several hours, with the fire being brought under control by 9:00 AM. Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire, with early speculation pointing to an electrical short circuit.
