Thane: Suburban Train Derails At Kalyan Station, No Injuries Reported

Thane, 19th October 2024: A suburban train derailed at Kalyan station in Thane district on Friday night as it approached a platform, but no injuries were reported, according to an official.
The Titwala-CSMT train came off the tracks at platform number 2 around 9:00 p.m., causing disruptions on the mainline, the official confirmed.
“There are no reports of injuries. The rear coach derailed while the train was moving slowly, nearing a stop at platform number 2,” stated Swapnil Nila, Central Railway’s chief public relations officer.
In a post on X, the Mumbai division DRM of Central Railway acknowledged, “Mainline services are running late due to a technical issue. We regret the inconvenience.” Kalyan, one of Central Railway’s busiest junctions, serves both suburban and long-distance trains.
Coincidentally, on Sunday, another derailment occurred near the EMU Carshed at Western Railway’s Mumbai Central station, leading to the cancellation of several suburban trains as the down-slow line was obstructed by the derailed coaches.
