Mumbai: Uddhav Thackeray Meets Devendra Fadnavis Amid Assembly Elections
Mumbai, 22nd October 2024: In a noteworthy development leading up to the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024, sources reported on Monday that Uddhav Thackeray, a leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), met with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Mumbai. While reports confirm the meeting took place, it is suggested that no significant progress was achieved during the discussions. In response to these claims, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut refuted any reports of a meeting between Thackeray and Fadnavis.
Amid ongoing tensions among the MVA partners regarding seat-sharing arrangements, Sanjay Raut previously stated, “Everyone must make certain sacrifices and take a step back.” He emphasized the importance of collaboration within the alliance during media interactions about seat distribution. “We have a long history in politics; every party believes their members should be candidates. However, this is a coalition. Everyone has the right to voice their opinions on their roles, but when it comes to seat sharing, sacrifices are necessary,” he explained.
Furthermore, Raut highlighted the need for prioritizing national and state interests over individual party goals. “This isn’t merely about sacrifice; it’s about the greater good for the nation and Maharashtra. We demonstrated considerable generosity during the seat-sharing for the Lok Sabha elections because we aimed to defeat those who undermine the Constitution. Now, we must work to oust the corrupt government in Maharashtra,” he added.
