Mumbai: Man Detained for Bludgeoning Murder of 40-Year-Old Near Shivaji Park
Mumbai, 30th December 2024: A 30-year-old man has been detained by Shivaji Park police in connection with the brutal murder of a 40-year-old man named Chandan, who was bludgeoned with a stone last week.
The victim’s body was discovered near the Rukmini Sadan building at Shivaji Park last Friday. A post-mortem revealed that Chandan died from severe head injuries inflicted by a blunt object.
Upon reviewing CCTV footage, police identified a suspect who was seen with the victim. Further investigations revealed that the suspect, a ragpicker, had been in the vicinity of Chandan. The suspect was arrested, and his clothes were found to be bloodstained. A stone, believed to be the murder weapon, was also recovered from him. He is currently being interrogated.
