Mumbai, 29th April 2025: A massive fire erupted early Tuesday morning at the Croma showroom located in Link Square Mall on Linking Road, Bandra West, Mumbai. The blaze began around 4:14 am and rapidly escalated, prompting the deployment of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and a massive firefighting operation.

The fire, which started on the ground floor of the Croma store (a part of the multi-level mall with three floors above and three below ground) quickly spread to other parts of the building. Thick plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the structure, drawing concern from nearby residents and businesses.

According to fire officials, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far, although a large quantity of electronic goods has been destroyed in the blaze. As a precautionary measure, the building adjacent to the mall was evacuated by the fire brigade to ensure public safety.

A large-scale emergency response was initiated involving teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Adani Electricity, and the Public Works Department. The fire brigade deployed 13 fire engines, 8 jumbo water tankers, 2 robotic firefighters, multiple ambulances, and other emergency equipment. Chief Fire Officer Ravindra Ambulgekar, along with senior officers including the Deputy Chief Officer and Divisional Officers, led the operation.

The NDRF teams reached the scene at approximately 7:45 am, following a request from the fire brigade for additional support. The combined efforts of emergency personnel were taken to bring the fire under full control.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and an investigation will follow once the area is secured. Authorities have urged the public to avoid the vicinity while the firefighting and rescue operations continue.
