Mumbai Local Services Disrupted for an Hour Due to Track Fracture in Thane District
Thane, 30th July 2025: Local train services on the Central Railway line were briefly disrupted on Wednesday morning after a rail fracture was detected between Badlapur and Vangani stations in Maharashtra’s Thane district, railway officials confirmed.
According to officials from Central Railway, the issue was reported early in the day, leading to temporary halts of down (DN) trains in the affected section. Railway authorities immediately initiated repair work, which was completed by 8:15 am. Following this, a safety inspection was conducted, and clearance for train movement at a restricted speed of 20 kmph was granted by 8:23 am.
While services resumed shortly after the clearance, the brief disruption caused delays and inconvenience to commuters during the morning rush hour. Railway officials assured that operations were stabilised soon after repairs and normalcy was restored in a phased manner.
