Central Railway Announces Feb 1 Mega Block; Thane-Kalyan Fast Lines to Remain Shut

Mumbai, 29th January 206: Central Railway’s Mumbai Division will operate a Mega Block on its suburban network on Sunday, February 1, 2026, to carry out engineering and maintenance works, officials said.

On the Main Line, UP and DOWN Fast lines between Thane and Kalyan stations will remain blocked from 10.40 hrs to 15.40 hrs. During this period, Down Fast and Semi-Fast local services departing CSMT Mumbai between 09.34 hrs and 15.03 hrs will be diverted onto the Down Slow line between Thane and Kalyan. These services will halt additionally at Kalva, Mumbra, and Diva stations and are expected to reach their destinations about 10 minutes late.

Similarly, Up Fast and Semi-Fast services departing Kalyan between 10.28 hrs and 15.40 hrs will be diverted onto the Up Slow line between Kalyan and Thane, with additional halts at Diva, Mumbra, and Kalva, before being re-diverted to the Up Fast line at Mulund. These services will also arrive approximately 10 minutes later than scheduled.

Mail and Express trains will also be regulated during the block. Down Mail/Express trains departing CSMT/Dadar will be diverted via the 5th line between Thane and Kalyan, while Up Mail/Express trains arriving at CSMT/Dadar will be diverted via the 6th line between Kalyan and Thane/Vikhroli.

On the Harbour Line, UP and DOWN services between Kurla and Vashi will be blocked from 11.10 hrs to 16.10 hrs. As a result, Down Harbour services towards Vashi, Belapur, and Panvel departing CSMT between 10.34 hrs and 15.36 hrs, and Up Harbour services towards CSMT departing Panvel, Belapur, and Vashi between 10.17 hrs and 15.47 hrs, will remain cancelled.

To mitigate the impact, special suburban trains will operate on the CSMT–Kurla and Panvel–Vashi sections during the block period. Additionally, Harbour Line passengers will be permitted to travel between Thane and Vashi/Nerul stations from 10.00 hrs to 18.00 hrs.

The block is being undertaken for scheduled engineering and maintenance works on the suburban network.
