Mumbai: Father-Son Attacked With Koytas in Broad Daylight; CCTV Captures Incident
Nalasopara,10th August 2026: A father and his son were allegedly attacked with sharp koyta-like weapons in broad daylight in the Shriramnagar area of Nalasopara East on Sunday afternoon. The incident, which took place on a busy road, was captured on CCTV and has reportedly caused fear among local residents.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred at around 1:30 pm when the father and son had reportedly gone to confront two men over the alleged harassment of girls in and around a madrasa in the area.
During the confrontation, the two accused allegedly attacked the father and son with koytas. The victims sustained serious injuries in the assault.
The injured have been identified as Sheru Khan and his son Atik Khan. Following the attack, both were rushed to ICS Hospital in Nalasopara for medical treatment. Atik Khan is reportedly in critical condition, while his father Sheru Khan is said to be in stable condition.
The entire incident was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area. The footage is expected to assist the police in establishing the sequence of events and identifying the role of those involved.
Following the attack, the two accused, identified as Ajju and Azim, allegedly fled the spot. Both are reportedly residents of the same area.
The Pelhar police have launched a search for the accused and are conducting further investigation into the incident. Police are also examining the circumstances that led to the confrontation and the subsequent assault.
