Mumbai Ganeshotsav 2026: Vice president C. P. Radhakrishnan Visits Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati During Maharashtra Tour

Mumbai, 18th September 2026: Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan visited Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja on Friday and offered prayers during the ongoing Ganeshotsav celebrations.

Radhakrishnan paid darshan at the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal as part of his Maharashtra visit on September 18. The Vice President’s visit to Mumbai was scheduled for Friday morning, followed by programmes in Lonavala and Pune later in the day.

At Lalbaug, Radhakrishnan sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha amid the ongoing festivities. Images from the visit showed the Vice President at the pandal during darshan.

Lalbaugcha Raja remains one of Mumbai’s most prominent Ganeshotsav destinations, drawing large numbers of devotees every year. The 2026 celebrations began on September 14 and will continue until September 25, with the city witnessing heavy footfall at major Ganpati pandals.

Radhakrishnan’s visit comes amid a series of prominent visitors to Lalbaugcha Raja during this year’s festival. Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other public figures have also visited the iconic pandal during Ganeshotsav.

Following his Mumbai visit, the Vice President is scheduled to travel to Lonavala for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Gordhandas Seksaria College of Yoga and Cultural Synthesis at Kaivalyadhama. He will later attend the 38th edition of the Pune Festival at Shri Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch at Nehru Stadium in Pune.

The Lalbaug area has also been witnessing significant crowds during the festival, with Mumbai Police putting traffic restrictions and diversions in place around Lalbaug and Kalachowki to manage the increased movement of devotees and vehicles.
