Mumbai–Raxaul, Mumbai–Saharsa Special Trains Extended; 62 Services to Run During Festive Season

Mumbai, 17 September 2026: Railways has extended the operation of 62 services of existing special trains on the Mumbai–Raxaul and Mumbai–Saharsa routes to meet passenger demand during the festive season.

Of the extended services, 20 services will operate between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Raxaul, while 22 services will operate between LTT and Saharsa. The extended trains will run with revised compositions.

LTT–Raxaul Special: 20 Extended Services

Train No. 05558 LTT–Raxaul Weekly Special, which operates every Thursday and was earlier scheduled to run up to September 17, 2026, will now operate from September 24 to November 26, 2026, covering 10 additional services.

In the return direction, Train No. 05557 Raxaul–LTT Weekly Special, operating every Tuesday and earlier notified to run up to September 15, 2026, has been extended from September 22 to November 24, 2026, covering another 10 services.

The revised composition of these trains will comprise one First AC-cum-AC 2-Tier coach, two AC 2-Tier coaches, six AC 3-Tier coaches, seven Sleeper Class coaches, four General Second Class coaches, one Second Seating-cum-Guard’s Brake Van and one Generator Car.

LTT–Saharsa Special: 22 Extended Services

Train No. 05586 LTT–Saharsa Weekly Special, operating every Sunday, has been extended from September 20 to November 29, 2026. The train was earlier notified to operate up to July 12, 2026. The extension will cover 11 services.

Train No. 05585 Saharsa–LTT Special, operating every Friday, has been extended from September 18 to November 27, 2026. It was earlier notified to run up to July 10, 2026, and the extension covers 11 services.

The composition of the LTT–Saharsa special will include six AC 3-Tier coaches, two AC 3-Tier Economy coaches, eight Sleeper Class coaches, four General Second Class coaches, one Second Seating-cum-Guard’s Brake Van and one Generator
