Kasara Rail Block: Local, Express Services to Face Changes from October 10 to 13

Mumbai, 7th October 2026: Central Railway will undertake extended traffic and power blocks at Kasara from October 7 to 18 as part of Pre-Non-Interlocking (Pre-NI), Non-Interlocking (NI) and Post-Non-Interlocking works for the Asangaon–Kasara 3rd Line Project and the UP Yard line extension towards Igatpuri in Kasara Yard.

The next phase of the block-related train changes will affect suburban, Mail and Express services between October 10 and 13, with suburban services unavailable between Asangaon and Kasara during the specified block periods. Several long-distance trains will also be regulated or delayed.

The blocks on these four days will be imposed from 3.35 pm to 9.35 pm on October 10, 11.30 am to 6.30 pm on October 11, and 3.35 pm to 8.35 pm on October 12 and 13.

The block section covers the UP Main Line between Kasara–Khardi and Umbermali–Kasara, including platforms 1, 3 and 4 and the UP Yard.

Suburban services between Asangaon and Kasara affected

Suburban services will not be available between Asangaon and Kasara during the block periods.

On October 10, 12 and 13, CSMT–Kasara locals scheduled to depart CSMT at 1.10 pm, 2.17 pm, 2.46 pm and 4.50 pm will be short-terminated at Asangaon.

In the reverse direction, Kasara–CSMT locals scheduled to leave Kasara at 3.35 pm, 4.16 pm, 5.02 pm and 6.17 pm will short-originate from Asangaon at 4.12 pm, 4.54 pm, 5.39 pm and 6.54 pm, respectively.

The Kasara–CSMT local scheduled for 8.15 pm on October 10 will depart 20 minutes late.

On October 11, CSMT–Kasara locals departing at 1.10 pm, 2.17 pm and 2.46 pm will be short-terminated at Asangaon. Kasara–CSMT locals scheduled at 3.35 pm, 4.16 pm and 5.02 pm will short-originate from Asangaon at 4.12 pm, 4.54 pm and 5.39 pm, respectively.

The Kasara–CSMT local scheduled to depart Kasara at 6.17 pm on October 11 will leave 13 minutes late.

Changes to last and first locals

From October 10 to 13, the last local before the block for Kasara on the Down North East line will depart CSMT at 12.30 pm.

The last local before the block for CSMT on the UP North East line will depart Kasara at 2.42 pm.

After the block, the first local for Kasara will depart CSMT at 6.28 pm on October 10, 12 and 13, while on October 11 it will depart at 4.50 pm.

The first local for CSMT after the block will depart Kasara at 8.35 pm on October 10, 6.30 pm on October 11, and 8.15 pm on October 12 and 13.

Several Mail and Express trains to be regulated

A number of UP Mail and Express trains will be regulated at Igatpuri or short of Igatpuri on the Bhusaval Division on October 10, 12 and 13, resulting in delays of around 35 to 40 minutes at their destinations.

The affected trains include the Gorakhpur–LTT Express, Haridwar–LTT AC Express, Howrah–CSMT Superfast Express, Gorakhpur–LTT Express, Amritsar–CSMT Express, Kamakhya–LTT Karmabhoomi Express, Sitapur–LTT Superfast Express, Ayodhya Cantt–LTT Tulsi Express, Sainagar Shirdi–CSMT Vande Bharat Express, Howrah–CSMT Gitanjali Express, Gomti Nagar–CSMT Pushpak Express, Nanded–CSMT Tapovan Express and Ballia–LTT Kamayani Express on the specified dates.

On October 11, several additional UP trains will be regulated at Igatpuri or short of Igatpuri and are expected to reach their destinations 35 to 40 minutes late. These include the Dhule–CSMT Express, Patliputra–LTT Express, Nanded–CSMT Vande Bharat Express, Prayagraj–LTT Duronto Express, Gorakhpur–LTT Express, Chhapra–LTT Express, Agra Cantt–LTT Lashkar Express, Bareilly–LTT Express, Hingoli Deccan–CSMT Janshatabdi Express, Gorakhpur–LTT Express and Patna–Vasco-Da-Gama Express.

Down trains to run 20 to 25 minutes late

Several Down trains will also be delayed by 20 to 25 minutes on October 10, 12 and 13.

The affected services include the LTT–Rajgir Express, CSMT–Nagpur Sevagram Express, Panvel–Gorakhpur Express, LTT–Sitapur Express, CSMT–Balharshah Nandigram Express, LTT–Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express, LTT–Raxaul Karmabhoomi Express, CSMT–Manmad Panchavati Express, CSMT–Nanded Rajyarani Express, CSMT–Gondia Vidarbha Express, CSMT–Firozpur Punjab Mail, LTT–Prayagraj Duronto Express, LTT–Raxaul Antyoday Express, LTT–Pratapgarh Udyognagari Express, CSMT–Howrah Duronto Express, Coimbatore–Jabalpur Superfast Special and LTT–Nanded Express, depending on the date.

On October 11, the CSMT–Hingoli Deccan Janshatabdi, Ernakulam–Hazrat Nizamuddin Mangaladweep Express, CSMT–Jabalpur Garibrath, LTT–Ballia Kamayani, Dadar–Gorakhpur Express, LTT–Rajgir Express, CSMT–Nagpur Sevagram Express, LTT–Sultanpur Express, LTT–Saharsa Special, LTT–Pratapgarh Udyognagari Express, CSMT–Balharshah Nandigram Express and CSMT–Howrah Duronto Express will also face delays of 20 to 25 minutes.

Correction in Kushinagar Express schedule

Central Railway has also issued a correction to its earlier release dated October 1 regarding Train No. 22538 LTT–Gorakhpur Kushinagar Express.

For the journey commencing October 9, the train will be rescheduled to depart Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) at 4.30 am. The earlier information had incorrectly stated that the train would depart from CSMT.

The details of blocks after October 13 will be shared separately.

The Kasara works are being undertaken in connection with the Asangaon–Kasara 3rd Line Project and the UP Yard line extension towards Igatpuri. The 3rd-line connectivity between Asangaon and Kasara forms part of the 3rd and 4th line project between Kasara and Kalyan. The full operational benefits will accrue after completion and commissioning of the entire project.
