Mumbai: 24-Year-Old Daughter Arrested For Murder Of Mother In Lalbaug

Mumbai, 15th March 2023: On Wednesday, the Mumbai Police announced that it had detained a 24-year-old woman from the Lalbaug neighbourhood in central Mumbai for allegedly killing her mother and keeping the body parts at home for around three months.
According to the police, on 14th March, a 60-year-old man, the brother of the 55-year-old deceased woman, filed a complaint with the Kalachowki Police in Bombay. He reported to the authorities that his sister had been missing for the previous three months and had been residing with her 24-year-old daughter at a Lalbaug.
According to the police, Senior Police Inspector of Kalachowki Police Station, Anand Mule, assembled a team of law enforcement officers and launched an investigation as soon as he received the allegation.
The team went to the woman’s home where they discovered her daughter resides. Officials first questioned her daughter, but they did not receive any satisfactory explanations regarding her missing mother.
She was interrogated as investigators started looking about the house for leads. Throughout their investigations, the authorities discovered the woman’s body, which was hidden inside a cabinet and had been cut up and wrapped in various plastic bags.
An official said that after discovering the body, the police officials summoned forensic and fingerprint experts. After gathering vital information, the body was moved to a local hospital for additional examination. The woman’s daughter was taken away from the scene and imprisoned.
The Electric Marble Cutter, Knife, and Koyta that are thought to have been used in the crime have been found, according to the police.
The daughter of the deceased woman allegedly provided the police with inadequate answers during her initial interrogation. When she was questioned again, the police claimed she provided them with different responses regarding her mother’s passing. To determine the precise motivation and cause in the case, the authorities are doing additional investigation.
