Mumbai, 15th March 2023: Several farmers are marching towards Mumbai with several demands. Drones caught images of the event as the group travelled through winding roads and various terrains while inching close to the Maximum City.
The CPM organised the march, which began in Dindori in the Nashik district and will travel 200 km before reaching Mumbai.
According to the organisers, in addition to farmers, a large number of unorganized-sector workers, including ASHA employees and tribal community members, have joined the march.
Onion growers should receive an urgent financial relief of Rs 600 per quintal, according to the farmers marching to Mumbai. Maharashtra’s onion farmers have been severely impacted by a sharp decline in prices. The scenario is the result of high production, according to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who has offered a compensation of Es 300 per quintal for onion producers.
In addition, the farmers are calling for a 12-hour electricity supply that is uninterruptible, the cancellation of agriculture loans, action to stop the decline in soybean, cotton, and tur prices, and immediate assistance for those farmers who have been impacted by recent unseasonal rains and other natural disasters.
The Old Pension Plan for state government employees is another demand made by those participating in the parade.
