Mumbai: Collectorate Demolishes Illegal Constructions At Mahim

Mumbai, 23rd March 2023: The Collector’s office took action and removed the illegal construction on the Mahim sea and fort on Thursday morning. This operation has been completed with the help of the police and municipal team. MNS chief Raj Thackeray mentioned during the Gudi Padwa speech that the dargah was built at Mahim without permission. The action was taken against that background.

He said the construction was unauthorized and should be demolished. Raj Thackeray had warned that if this construction is not demolished, a temple will be built there. After that, government agencies started working. The Collector’s Office took steps to demolish this structure by issuing an order at night. At eight in the morning, the unauthorized construction was demolished with the help of the police and the North Division team of the municipality.

The Mumbai Municipal Corporation team reached the Mahim area on Thursday morning. Municipal officials and labourers had brought big hammers, ropes and slings for demolition. Other unauthorized constructions in the area were also demolished. A team of six officials of the Collectorate was deployed for this performance.
