Armed Attack on Builder’s Office in Vasai Leaves Developer and Employees Seriously Injured

Vasai, 26th June 2023: In a shocking incident that unfolded in broad daylight, an armed attack was carried out on the office of a prominent builder located on the highway in Vasai. The assailants, numbering around 10 to 12, entered the office premises brandishing swords after making an extortion demand of Rs. 2 crore in the name of the underworld. Offices and vehicles were vandalised in this attack. The developer and two of his employees were seriously injured in the attack.

Developer Jitendra Yadav’s Vindhyashakti Estate and Infra Pvt. Ltd. company office is located near the Jain temple in Juchandra. His business is to develop land and sell it to builders. Two days ago, some gangsters contacted him and demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore for ‘Underworld’ Seth. This was rejected by Yadav.

Around 5:30 on Wednesday evening, while Yadav was sitting in his office, 10 to 12 assailants came on a two-wheeler. They had swords in their hands. They vandalised the office as well as two vehicles parked outside. The assailants also assaulted Yadav and two of his employees. Three of them were seriously injured in this attack, and they are undergoing treatment in the hospital. After the incident, the bike of one of the attackers was found there.

In this case, the Naigaon police have registered a case against the attackers under various sections of attempted murder, rioting, prohibition of weapons, etc. Various teams have been formed to trace the attackers. The complete attack has been captured on CCTV. The main attacker, Girish Nair, is notoriously accused of the Mokka crime. Assistant Police Inspector Balaram Palkar, the investigating officer in the case, said that it is not yet clear in whose name exactly the ransom was demanded.
