Mumbai: Crime Branch Police Apprehended Accused Of Raping Minor Girl From Uttarakhand

Juhu, 7th August 2023: The Crime Branch Police successfully apprehended a 30-year-old individual accused of raping a minor girl in Mumbai. The accused, identified as Surat Chufe Bhool with the sobriquet Sandeep Kalusingh Bhool, had fled from Mumbai after a case was registered against him at the Juhu Police station. The accused had been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Acting on a tip, the Crime Branch police managed to detained the accused from a small village in Uttarakhand, where he was reportedly preparing to escape to Nepal. A joint operation by the Uttarakhand Police Team and Room-9’s investigation unit led to the timely detention of the accused, who was preparing to run away to Nepal.
Under the guidance of In-Charge Police Inspector Daya Nayak, Cell 9 of the Crime Branch initiated an investigation that combined technical information analysis and traditional investigative methods. This approach yielded vital information about the whereabouts of the accused, allowing the team to track him across multiple locations, including Mumbai, Thane, Delhi, Uttarakhand, etc.
After the successful detention of the accused, the Crime Branch Police handed him over to the Juhu Police, who promptly registered a case against him under the POCSO Act.
