Massive LPG Cylinder Explosion Rocks Mumbai’s Bandra Area, Leaves Five Seriously Injured
Bandra, 18th November 2023: A horrific incident of a severe LPG gas cylinder explosion has unfolded in the vicinity of Bandra this morning. Five individuals have sustained serious injuries in this incident. The firefighting teams swiftly responded to the scene and promptly contained the blaze. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment, as confirmed by the information provided by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
The explosion occurred early Saturday morning in a residential building on the Gas Holder Bandh Road in the Fitur Galli area of Bandra. The explosion of a domestic gas cylinder resulted in subsequent fires, escalating due to contact with nearby electrical connections. Despite commendable efforts, it took the fire brigade nearly 40 minutes, starting from 6 am, to gain control over the raging flames.
Among the unfortunate victims of this mishap are Nikhil Das (aged 53), Rakesh Sharma (aged 38), Anthony Thengel (aged 65), Kalicharan Kanojiya (aged 54), and Shaan Siddiqui (aged 31), who sustained severe burns. They have been rushed to nearby hospitals for immediate medical attention. Presently, doctors at the hospital have reported that their conditions remain stable.
