BEST Initiative Expands: 10 New Electric Double-Decker Buses Bring Relief to East-West Mumbai Commuters
Mumbai, 29th November 2023: 10 more electric double-decker air-conditioned buses have been added to the fleet of the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) initiative. As these buses will run between Bandra-Kurla, east-west suburban commuters will get great relief.
New air-conditioned electric double-decker buses have been plying in Mumbai for the past few months. This bus is getting good response from passengers. There is a demand to increase the number of these buses. Considering this demand, 10 new air-conditioned electric double-decker buses have been added to BEST’s fleet on Tuesday. These buses will run on BEST Bus Route No. 310 between Bandra Bus Terminus – Kurla Railway Station (W).
In February 2023, electric air-conditioned double-decker buses entered the fleet of the BEST initiative on the London route. These buses have been included in the fleet to save fuel and promote the environment. At present, the BEST initiative has 49 electric double-decker air-conditioned buses in its fleet. 25 of these buses are running in South Mumbai and these buses are getting good response from the passengers. So, from Tuesday, 10 buses will be run in Mumbai suburbs mainly in Kurla, Bandra-Kurla complex to remove the inconvenience of the passengers, information was given by the BEST initiative.
