Thane: Man Arrested for Providing Confidential Information to Pakistan Intelligence Operative
Thane, 13th December 2023: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has taken action against a suspect involved in providing confidential and sensitive information to a Pakistan Intelligence Operative (PIO) a Pakistan-based intel agency. The suspect, along with three accomplices, is now under investigation, following his arrest.
ATS received confidential information highlighting the suspect’s communication with a PIO based in Pakistan and the subsequent sharing of classified information about restricted areas within India. The suspect underwent interrogation, revealing connections with two PIO officials whom he had encountered on Facebook and WhatsApp between April and October 2023.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect engaged in online conversations with the PIO through Facebook and WhatsApp. Shockingly, the suspect not only shared confidential information regarding restricted areas but also accepted money online from the PIO, raising concerns about potential compromises to national security.
In response to the severity of the situation, ATS has registered a case in Thane against the suspect and three other individuals associated with him. The suspect has been apprehended, marking a significant step in the ongoing investigation into the breach of national security.
