Mumbai: Early Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Children with Special Needs To Be Inaugurated In Nagpada

Mumbai, 22nd December 2023: The Chief Minister of the Maharashtra state, Eknath Shinde, will inaugurate the ‘Early Treatment and Rehabilitation Center’ (EIRCC) for children with special needs at Nagpada, under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s BYL Nair Charitable Hospital and Topiwala National Medical College. The inauguration ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at 9 am, attended by various dignitaries.

The EIRCC, situated at Ozone Biz Centre, B & C Wing, Bellasis Road, Nagpada, Mumbai Central, will be open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and on Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm.

Dr. Iqbal Singh Chahal, Commissioner and Administrator of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, emphasized the holistic development and care of children through a wide range of medical disciplines available at the center. The facility aims to provide comprehensive, accessible, affordable, and integrated rehabilitation services for children with special needs.

Dr. Sudhakar Shinde, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Western Suburbs), highlighted the swift implementation of the center by the municipal administration. The center’s operationalization is expected to enhance the performance and quality of life for children with special needs.

Dr. Sudhir Medhekar, Dean of Nair Charitable Hospital, expressed the commitment to providing early and timely support to families through the EIRCC.

Dr. Hinal Shah detailed the range of facilities available at the center, covering departments such as Ear, Nose, Throat; Ophthalmology; Orthopedics; Pediatrics; Psychiatry; Occupational Therapy; Physiotherapy; Audiology; Speech Disorder Treatment; and Pediatric Dental.

Dr. Surbhi Rathi emphasized the center’s role in establishing clinical excellence for scientific treatment and training, providing hope and support to families of children with special needs.
