Mumbai Festival 2024 Gears Up for Grand Celebration – Tourism Minister Stresses Coordination

Mumbai, 22nd December 2023: The countdown to ‘Mumbai Festival 2024’ has begun, with Tourism Minister Girish Mahajan emphasizing the need for seamless coordination among all participating organizations. The festival, scheduled to take place from January 20th to 28th, aims to showcase the vibrant culture of Maharashtra to both national and international audiences.

In a review meeting held at the Sahyadri Guest House, Minister Mahajan, along with key figures such as Jayashree Bhoj (Secretary of Tourism Department), Ashwini Joshi (Additional Commissioner of BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation), Anand Mahindra (Chairman of Mumbai Festival Advisory Committee), Dr. B. N. Patil (Director of Tourism), Shraddha Joshi-Sharma (Managing Director of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation), and Siddeshwar Mishra of Dream Sports, discussed the meticulous planning required to ensure the success of the Mumbai Festival.

Minister Mahajan expressed the significance of Mumbai as a magnet for citizens across the country and international tourists. The festival serves as a platform to introduce the rich culture of Maharashtra, with participants ranging from professionals and stakeholders to various establishments like shopping malls, art galleries, cinema houses, hotels, food courts, adventure sports centers, and entertainment hubs.

To maximize people’s participation, Minister Mahajan stressed the effective use of social media for disseminating information about the Mumbai Festival. He highlighted the need for strict planning to avoid any shortcomings and urged concerned organizations to prepare detailed presentations covering permits, festival programs, scheduling, and program outlines.

In the spirit of inclusivity, the Mumbai Festival is set to feature iconic elements such as Mumbai Dabewale, Mumbai Cultural Koli Bandhav, Mumbai Stock Market, Bollywood Star, and Mumbai Chowpatty. Minister Mahajan appealed to both government systems and non-governmental organizations to collaborate closely in ensuring the festival’s success.
