Mumbai: Father Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Two Minor Girls in Malad East
Malad, 6th January 2024: In a disturbing incident in Malad East, Mumbai, a 37-year-old father has been apprehended by the police for allegedly sexually assaulting two minor girls. The arrest comes after a complaint was filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) by an NGO worker who learned about the heinous acts.
The accused, a father, reportedly subjected two minor girls to sexual abuse since the year 2021. The victim girls are aged 13 and 14 years. The gravity of the offence led to the registration of a case under the POCSO Act.
Upon learning about the atrocities, a woman associated with a non-governmental organization (NGO) initiated counselling sessions with the girls in the area. During these sessions, one victim mustered the courage to share her harrowing experience. The accused father had been intimidating the victim, instilling fear that prevented her from reporting the matter earlier.
