Chaos At Mumbai’s Gaiety Galaxy As Unidentified Substance Disrupts Pushpa 2 Screening

Mumbai, 6th December 2024: Chaos unfolded at the Gaiety Galaxy Theatre in Bandra during the screening of Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ when an unidentified substance was sprayed, causing discomfort among the audience. Many moviegoers experienced coughing and throat irritation, prompting the screening to be halted.
A video from the scene captured distressed attendees covering their faces as confusion spread throughout the cinema hall. In the clip, a man is heard saying, “The movie has been stopped. Someone sprayed something, and everyone is coughing.” Police arrived at the theatre to investigate, but no formal case was registered.
In a related incident, a day earlier, a stampede at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of the film resulted in the tragic death of a 35-year-old woman. The stampede occurred as a large crowd surged to see Allu Arjun, who appeared at the event without prior announcement. The victim’s nine-year-old son was also hospitalized due to breathing difficulties.

Neither the actor nor the theatre management has commented on the case so far.
In ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ Allu Arjun reprises his role as Pushpa, a character who rises from being a labourer to a smuggling kingpin. Directed by Sukumar, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, the latter playing the antagonist.
