Domestic tractor industry reported sales of 59,586 units in July: Tractor Junction

Mumbai, 09 August 2022: India’s tractor industry recorded sales of 59,586 units in the month of July 2022 as per data collated by Tractor Junction – India’s leading digital marketplace for tractor and farm equipment. Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Gujarat were among the top five states contributing to overall tractor sales.

The sales data recorded is down 28% when compared on a YoY basis. The decline is largely due to a high base of the previous year and an uneven spread of the monsoon season. The month of July witnessed floods, water logging, and heavy rains throwing normal life out of gear for days in various parts of the country. This does not include the sales data from the states of Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Mr. Rajat Gupta, Founder, Tractor Junction said, “The tractor sales in the month of July are down due to a higher base recorded last year. Going forward the IMD’s forecast of average rain (96-104% of LPA) in August & September and a good crop yield augurs well for tractor and other farm equipment volumes”.

Brand-wise sales, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) reported the highest sales in July, followed by Swaraj Tractor, Sonalika Tractor, Massey Ferguson, and Escorts.
