Fire Breaks Out in Mumbai Municipal School, Prompt Response Averts Injuries

Mumbai, 15th January 2024: A fire broke out in Saibaba School, located opposite Mint Colony Monorail Station in Parel, Mumbai, on Monday morning. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the school was closed for the Makar Sankranti holiday at the time of the incident.
The fire, which started around 9:15 am, affected a storage room on the ground floor where mattresses were stored. Prompt response from four fire engines and additional fire brigade vehicles managed to extinguish the flames within 20 minutes. The fire was largely contained to electric wiring and other fittings in the storage area.
While the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, some residents claimed to have heard multiple explosions of gas cylinders within the school building. Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the fire and to address any safety concerns.
A thick cloud of black smoke was visible in the area due to the fire. Currently, authorities are conducting a cooling operation at the site to ensure complete safety and prevent any potential rekindling.
