Ganpati Festival: 18 Special Night Local Trains to Run Between CSMT and Kalyan

Mumbai, 20 September 2026: Central Railway will operate 18 special night suburban train services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Kalyan/Thane during the Ganpati festival on the nights of September 23–24, September 24–25 and September 25–26, 2026.

The special services on the Main Line will run between CSMT and Kalyan, with services also operating between CSMT and Thane. On the Harbour Line, four special suburban services will operate between CSMT and Panvel on the night of September 25–26, coinciding with Ganpati immersion.

The special suburban trains will halt at all stations between CSMT and their respective destinations.

Main Line: CSMT to Kalyan/Thane

On the Down Main Line, the special services will operate on all three nights.

– CSMT–Kalyan Special 1: Departs CSMT at 1.40 am, arrives Kalyan at 3.10 am.
– CSMT–Thane Special 1: Departs CSMT at 2.30 am, arrives Thane at 3.30 am.
– CSMT–Kalyan Special 3: Departs CSMT at 3.25 am, arrives Thane at 4.55 am.

On the Up Main Line, services will operate on the same three nights.

– Kalyan–CSMT Special 2: Departs Kalyan at 12.05 am, arrives CSMT at 1.30 am.
– Thane–CSMT Special 2: Departs Thane at 1 am, arrives CSMT at 2 am.
– Thane–CSMT Special 4: Departs Thane at 2 am, arrives CSMT at 3 am.

Harbour Line: CSMT–Panvel

Four special services will operate on the night of September 25–26.

On the Down Harbour Line:

– CSMT–Panvel Special 1: Departs CSMT at 1.30 am, arrives Panvel at 2.50 am.
– CSMT–Panvel Special 3: Departs CSMT at 2.45 am, arrives Panvel at 4.05 am.

On the Up Harbour Line:

– Panvel–CSMT Special 2: Departs Panvel at 1 am, arrives CSMT at 2.20 am.
– Panvel–CSMT Special 4: Departs Panvel at 1.45 am, arrives CSMT at 3.05 am.

The special services have been scheduled for devotees travelling during the Ganpati festival, with the four Harbour Line services specifically scheduled for the Ganpati immersion night.
