Heavy Rain Predicted Today Too In Mumbai; IMD Issues Warning And Urges Citizens To Take Proper Precautions
Mumbai, 27th September 2024: Citizens of Mumbai started work on Thursday (26th September), recovering from the agony of Wednesday’s (25th September) heavy rains and the two-hour delay of the Central Railway on their way home from work at night. Like Thursday, rains have made a heavy presence in many parts of Maharashtra including the city since early morning on Friday (27th September). The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in Mumbai today. The dark clouds were seen in Mumbai from early morning.
As predicted by the IMD, heavy rain is likely to occur in Mumbai today. Rain has been predicted in various parts of the state including Mumbai during the day today. A red alert has been given by the IMD in Nashik and an orange alert has been given in Palghar, Pune, Nandurbar, and Dhule like Mumbai. Apart from that, a yellow alert has been given in almost every city of Maharashtra today.
The temperature in Mumbai today is expected to be between 23°C and 31°C. Mumbaikars may experience rain or cloudy weather during the day. It is also said that the city may have a similar atmosphere till 29th September.
Mumbaikars are most worried about the proper functioning of local services during monsoons. It has been seen that railway services are often disrupted due to rain or water accumulation on railway tracks. On Wednesday night too, the traffic of Central Railway was disrupted for almost two hours due to waterlogging on the railway track from the Kanjurmarg to Vikhroli.
Today, no update has been given by Central Railway or Western Railway regarding delayed or disrupted local services. Local services on all three routes in Mumbai i.e. Central, West, and Harbor are running smoothly in the morning. Traffic is running late at some places by approximately 10 minutes. However, apart from that the local service of Mumbai is running smoothly. Meanwhile, a block will be taken between Kasara and Oombermali stations on the Central Railway on Friday for the purpose of work.
On Thursday, Mumbaikars had to suffer a lot due to heavy traffic jams due to rain. This was especially seen on the Western Expressway. As heavy rain is predicted in the city on Friday as well, Mumbaikars are urged to take proper precautions regarding the same.
