MHADA to Launch 2024 Housing Lottery with 2,000 Affordable Homes in Mumbai

Mumbai, 31st July 2024: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) is set to launch its upcoming housing lottery, offering 2,000 affordable homes in Mumbai, as announced by Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MHADA. According to Jaiswal, the majority of these homes will cater to the lower-income group (LIG), mid-income group (MIG), and economically weaker section (EWS). Additionally, there will be a limited number of homes available for the higher income group (HIG), including a few premium 3 BHK apartments in Goregaon.
The lottery is scheduled to take place in September, with the final announcement expected shortly.
How to Apply for MHADA Lottery 2024
Applications for the MHADA lottery 2024 will be processed online. Interested homebuyers can monitor updates and apply through the official website https://housing.mhada.gov.in/. MHADA has also introduced a mobile application where applicants must register. Once registered, individuals can submit their applications when the lottery opens.
Price and Locations for MHADA Lottery 2024
Prices for homes in the EWS category are expected to start around ₹30 lakh, while 3 BHK apartments in the HIG category may exceed ₹1 crore. Although the final price for the 3 BHK apartments is yet to be confirmed, it is anticipated to surpass ₹1 crore.
Income Slabs
– EWS: Family income up to ₹6 lakh per annum.
– LIG: Family income between ₹6 lakh and ₹9 lakh.
– MIG: Family income between ₹9 lakh and ₹12 lakh.
– HIG: Family income above ₹12 lakh.
For the MHADA lottery, family income is defined as the combined annual income of a husband and wife, excluding income from parents or siblings.
